Paid work experience

International internships

There are a limited number of international internships available for geology, mining and metallurgy students in their final or second last year of study. Priority is given to those students who have already completed paid work placement with Rio Tinto, or who are enrolled in a course with the Federation of European Mining Programs, or who hold a Rio Tinto scholarship. In the UK, the Exploration Summer Jobs programme targets students in their second last or final year of geology study.
